To preserve and improve the social, cultural, economic and environmental well being of Inner South Canberra and the Inner South Canberra Community.

Oaks Estate Party Sunday 24 November 2013

The Oaks Estate community festival/party commences at 4pm on Sunday the 24th November at Gillespie Park.

At 2.30pm our specialist Heritage consultant Dr Karen William’s will be conducting a great walking tour titled ‘three corner stones’, and again at 4.30pm a talk at Robertson’s House, 9 Hazel St, that looks at “Queanbeyan Canberra: 100 years a changing focus”.

You are encouraged to book a place on these tours/talks, which are a National Trust auspiced activity (cost is a gold coin donation).

Make sure to stay awhile longer and support our community as we have Bands (the fuelers 6.30 pm), acoustic performers, dancers, cultural associations, food, jumping castles, paste-ups and a whole lot more going on. The day finishes at approximately 7.30pm.

If anyone is interested, some of the artworks ask you to participate by sending either an individual word or phrase on – passage, place, leaving arrival, belonging. These words are written on our community blackboards located on Railway St each morning and evening.
