The ISCCC has identified, and will advocate to ACT election candidates on, these priority policies and actions in advance of the ACT elections in October 2020.
These priorities draw on the results of the ISCCC’s online survey of 555 residents, as well as other issues that have continued to be of interest and concern to inner south residents and their residents groups for some time.
The ISCCC and our member residents groups, in cooperation with the Fyshwick Business Association and other stakeholders, are organising a major campaign to respond to massive proposed waste facilities in Fyshwick that will be just hundreds of metres from residents’ homes and surrounded by businesses, with implications for their employees and customers.

In response to the ACT Government advice on 3 July that it had accepted the EIS for the CRS waste facility in Ipswich Street, Fyshwick, paving the way for CRS to lodge a development application, the ISCCC calls on the ACT Government to:
expected Development Application by CRS from the standard 15 working days to 40 working days in view of the massive amount of documentation the community will need to absorb and respond to.
ISCCC submission to National Capital Authority on 22 May 2020 in response to Proposed Phase 2 Boardwalk and Land Reclamation in West Basin (Block 23 Section 33 Acton Waterfront).
ISCCC letter to ACT MLAs on 11 June 2020 in support of Planning Legislation Amendment Bill tabled by Caroline Le Couteur MLA in the Legislative Assembly on 7 May 2020, as a first step in improving community consultation, transparency and accountability in the planning system.
