Yarralumla Brickworks development latest news

From Yarralumla Residents Association 10 February 2017

The LDA has received final submissions from the two tenderers for development of the Canberra Brickworks Precinct (CBP) and no other unsolicited proposals were received by the deadline.

On this basis, the ACT government is moving towards selecting one of the two tenderers as the preferred tenderer to develop the CBP.

The Community Panel has been asked to review certain aspects of both tenders and write a review of how well each tenderer has addressed the objectives and parameters for the precinct previously formulated by the Community Panel. The Community Panel will also look at how each of the proponents has addressed the Community Panel feedback provided to each of the proponents on their initial proposals.

The Community Panel’s review will be submitted to the Evaluation Panel for consideration by the end of February. The Evaluation Panel will recommend which of the two tenderers they think should be the preferred tenderer with the final decision made by the delegate (Director-General of the Economic Development Directorate), after which time there will be an opportunity for the LDA to finetune the preferred tenderer’s proposal before further steps are taken. Those further steps will include the formulation of an Estate Development Plan that will be subject to wide public consultation and review.
